Google Panda 4.2
So Google what is Google Panda 4.2 and what does it mean to you?
Google Panda changed how Googles search results ranking algorithm works. First released in February 2011 it has since then received numerous updates and improvements. The aim of this algorithm was to change the way google lists its site so higher quality, “fuller” sites would appear first and lower quality websites would rank lower. When Panda was introduced there was a surge in the rankings for new websites and social networking websites and a big drop in ad-filled websites. It is estimated this change affected almost 12% of all search results.
The latest release, Google Panda 4.2, began a slow rollout that started on July 18th 2015 and by slow they estimate it will take multiple months to roll out this update due to technical reasons. Although the Panda algorithm is site-wide some pages might not see changes immediately. Sites affected negatively by the previous update might “escape” these consequences during the slow rollout of the update.
